Chroma Dermatology is an organisation with a social conscience. In addition to striving to provide the highest quality care for patients on our shores, we are also committed to improving the welfare of people and communities beyond our borders.

Chroma Dermatology have partnered with organisations and institutions locally and abroad to educate individuals, professionals and entire communities about common skin conditions and to provide clinical care and medication to rural and remote communities. We hope our existing partnerships will strengthen and that new ones will form so that we can continue to do small things that make a big difference.

Rural North India

Chroma Dermatology has established links with Sampan, a community development program based in rural North India. This program was set up by a Dermatologist and Public Health Physician, Dr Claire Grills and Dr. Nathan Grills who have worked tirelessly to create a sustainable form of medical assistance to this impoverished region of the world.

Projects that Chroma Dermatology have been involved with include face-to-face education of community healthcare workers and village leaders, provision of dermatology see-and-treat clinics and medical research.

We look forward to continuing our involvement with Sampan and their partners.

The Pacific Islands

An official dermatology training program doesn’t exist in the Pacific Islands at present. Dr. Margot Whitfeld, an Australian Dermatologist has initiated a Dermatology Training Program at the Fiji National University in Suva and Chroma Dermatology will be involved in the development of the learning objectives and course material and will also provide on-site teaching and lectures to the trainees as well as assistance with outpatient dermatology clinics.

This kind of support will provide sustainable training of future dermatologists in the Pacific Island region which will provide much needed care to patients in this part of the world.
