Dr. Michelle Rodrigues is the founder and director of Chroma Dermatology. She has over 15 years of experience in dermatology and has practiced locally and internationally. She is globally renowned for her expertise in treating pigment problems and diagnosing and managing skin conditions in those with skin of colour (non-Caucasian skin).
Through her passion for medical education and research, Dr. Rodrigues has contributed to advances in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like vitiligo and melasma, and to the unique diagnostic and treatment considerations in patients with skin of colour who have common skin conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, keloid scars and more.
As a key opinion leader in pigmentary disorders and skin of colour, Dr. Rodrigues looks forward to serving her patients and journeying with them to improved skin health.
Dr. Celestine Wong is an Australian-trained dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. During her dermatology training, she spent 6months at the National Skin Centre in Singapore where she obtained experience treating Asian and Indian skin types and tropical skin conditions.
Dr. Wong has a range of interests including paediatric dermatology (skin problems in children), acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, excessive sweating and skin cancer. She understands the unique ways these common conditions present and respond to treatment in those with skin of colour.
Having a keen interest in dermatology education, Dr. Wong has published in numerous peer reviewed journals and lectures to healthcare professionals. She is involved in voluntary work abroad and was awarded the Harvey Rotstein Award for personal and professional excellence as well as dedication to patient care throughout her dermatology training.
Dr. Wong can converse in Mandarin and prides herself on providing evidence-based treatment for her patients.
Dr. Priska McDonald is a fellow of the Australian College of Dermatologists. She completed her medical degree at Monash University with honours and went on to complete Basic Physician Training through The Alfred Hospital. After this, Dr. McDonald undertook her dermatology speciality training in Melbourne where she gained experience at The Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Children’s Hospital. She was also selected to work in the United Kingdom at St George’s Hospital, London.
Dr. McDonald is a general dermatologist with a broad range of interests. In addition to her private practice, she holds appointments at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Alfred Hospital.
Dr Flora Poon is a Consultant and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
She undertook her dermatology training in various tertiary referral hospitals around Victoria. She was also awarded a scholarship to train in Oxford, UK. It was here that she gained further experience in sub-specialised medical and surgical dermatology. She worked in multidisciplinary clinics managing cutaneous oncology (skin cancers), eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair disorders, immunobullous and vulval conditions (women’s health) in adults and children from different cultural backgrounds.
In addition to private practice, Dr Poon holds public appointments at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Health where she is actively involved in ongoing medical research and teaching. Dr Poon’s research has received awards both locally and internationally.
Dr Poon enjoys the diversity of dermatology practice and has a range of sub-speciality interests including adult and paediatric dermatology, eczema, psoriasis, acne, hyperhidrosis and skin cancers. Dr Poon is dedicated to her patients and is passionate about providing excellent care, advocacy and kindness whilst delivering exceptional evidence-based dermatology practice for all her patients.
Dr Edmund Wee is a consultant dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists with Singaporean origins.
He completed his medical degree with honours at The University of Melbourne and undertook dermatology specialist training in Victoria, working in tertiary referral hospitals and healthcare networks including St Vincent’s Health, Monash Health, The Alfred Hospital, Western Health, The Royal Children’s Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. At the conclusion of his training, he was also awarded the prestigious Harvey Rotstein award in recognition for his collegiality, integrity and dedication to patient care.
Dr. Wee has completed a Masters of Philosophy researching the anatomic distribution of Melanoma at the Victorian Melanoma Service. His research has won awards and been published in both local and international journals.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Wee also holds appointments at Monash Health and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr. Wee is a general dermatologist with a wide range of interests within dermatology. He sees and treats children and adults and looks forward to caring for the richly diverse population at Chroma Dermatology.
Shima is a seasoned Senior Dermal Clinician with over a decade of experience. She is passionate about optimal skin health, educating and training other professionals and undertaking research.
Shima’s undergraduate university degree in dermal sciences was undertaken at Victoria University where, over 4 years, she studied skin structure and biology, cosmeceuticals and skin care products and laser and energy-based device therapy for hair removal and skin treatments.
She prides herself on delivering safe, innovative and effective skin solutions and loves working with the high quality lasers, peels and skin rejuvenation devices available at Chroma Dermatology.
An initial consultation with Shima at Chroma Dermatology is like an in depth health check for your skin. It will involve a comprehensive assessment of your overall skin-health and an in-depth discussion about any concerns you would like to address. A computerised, digital analysis of you skin texture, pigmentation, and blood vessels coupled will an in-person examination will facilitate the development of an individually tailored treatment plan .
