Dr. Sarah Shen
Dr. Sarah Shen is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).
Dr. Shen graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2008, and then went on to complete a Medical Science degree in the research of reconstructive surgical anatomy. After gaining general medical and surgical experience at St Vincent’s Health and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, she embarked on dermatology research at the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital. It was here that she completed a Master of Philosophy in the research of high-risk melanomas. She has published this work in both local and international dermatology journals.
Her post-graduate dermatology training was undertaken in Victoria where she worked in all major tertiary hospitals including at St Vincent’s Health, Austin Health, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Monash Health, The Alfred Hospital, the Skin Health Institute and the National Skin Centre in Singapore. The 6 months spent at the National Skin Centre in Singapore has provided her with experience treating Asian and Indian skin types.
Dr. Shen now holds a public hospital appointment as a consultant dermatologist at the Alfred Hospital and has a range of interests including eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair disorders and skin cancer diagnosis and management.
Dr Shen is fluent in conversational Mandarin and a Shanghai dialect and is committed to providing well-rounded, evidence-based patient care.
